There are roughly three basic scenario’s by which Q can be involved in distribution:

Q is the exclusive distributor for a product in certain countries and appoints local distributors. Q buys the product, stocks it in its warehouse at London Heathrow, sells through to the local distributors whom it will support in its sales efforts
Q acts as Agent for the Manufacturer and is paid on commission
Q is solely a Matchmaker, consulting the Manufacturer on its choice of distributors
